The Himalayan Rivers :-
ANS = The major Himalayan river are three types are :-
(1) The Indus River System
(2) The Ganga River system
(3) The Brahmputra River System
→ The Indus River System :-
# The Indus river rises in Tibet near Mansarovar Lake.
# Indus river are flowing west , it enters India in the Ladakh district of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K).
# They are nine tributaries of Indus River are :-
(1) The Zaskar river
(2) The Nubra river
(3) The Shyok river
(4) The Hunza river
(5) The Satluj river
(6) The Beas river
(7) The Chenab river
(8) The Ravi river
(9) The Jhelum river
# The Indus river was the total length of 2900 km.
# The Indus river was one of the longest river of the world.
→The Ganga River System :-
# The Ganga river rises in the Gangotri Glacier at Uttrakhand.
# The Ganga is left bank tributaries such as :-
(1) The Yamuna river
(2) The Ghaghra river
(3) The Kosi river
(4) The Gandak river
# The Ganga is Right bank main tributaries such as :-
(1) The Chambal river
(2) The Betwa river
(3) The Son river
# The total length is over Ganga is 2500 km.
# This river was devlop as large meanders.
→ The Brahmputra River System :-
# The Brahmputra river rises in Tibet east of Mansarovar Lake.
# This river are flows to east parallel to the Himalayas.
# There are only two major tributaries that Brahmputra river are :-
(1) Dibang river
(2) Lohit river
# From Tibet, The river is very narrow a large of silt soil with it . But after India reaching india the river is over flowed due to heavy rainfall causing disturbance in human population.
# The total length of Brahmputra river is 2900 km but,enters india can flowed to 916 km.
