# The Reign of Terror :-
★ Period between 1793 & 1794 is reffered to as the reign of terror.
★ Leader of reign of terror - Maxmillian Robespierre.
★ Robespierre adopted a policy of source control and punishment.
★ All those whom he considered as being ‘enemies’ off the republic - ex nobles, clergy, members of other political parties and even members of his own party who did not support his method.
★ Were arrested, imprisioned and them tried by a sent to revolutionary tribunal.
★ If the court found them guilty, they were put to guiltime.
★ Robespierre's government formulated laves & that placed maximum ceiling on wages and prices.
★ Meat and bread were rationed.
★ Peasants were forced to sold grains in the cities at the prices fixed by the government.
★ The white flour which was expensive was forbidden all citizens expected to eat pain d'egalite' (equality bread) a loof made of white wheat.
★ Equality was also sought to be practiced through forms of speech and address.
★ Monsieur (Sir) - Citoyen.
★ Madome (madam) - Citoyene.
★ Church were shut down and their building were converted into barracks and officer.
★ Robespierre persued his policies so relentlessly that even his admirers began domending moderation.
★ Finally , he was convicted in a court in July 1794 arrested and on the next day sent to the guillotine.
