* This shortage was compensated by a triangular slave trade between Europe,Africa and The America.

* French merchant's sailed from the parts of Bordeaux or Nontes to the African coast and purchased slaves from the local chieftains.
* Slaves were packed fight into ships for the three month long voyage through Atlantic to Caribbean.
* They were sold to the owners of plantation.
* By this they made it possble to meet demands of the european markets for Sugar,Indigo,Coffee and Tobacco.
* Port cities such as Bordeaux and Nontes owned their economic prosperity to the flourishing slave trade.
* During the 18th century there was no criticism of the slavery in france.
* The convention in 1794 formulated laves to free all slaves in the french overseas possession.
* Only after 10 years Napolean reintroduced slavery.
* But owners of the plantation understand their freedom as including the right to e slaves African Negros.
* In,1848 slavery was finally established in French society.
